Learn to get control of your camera settings and begin shooting better photos in our Mastering Your Camera Workshop which has been designed to demystify the technical and creative aspects of your digital camera. Digital photography will be explained in an easy and straightforward manner that will assist you in understanding the various camera settings and what they have been designed to do.
Correct focus and exposure are absolutely crucial in creating stunning images, but in the age of auto exposure and auto focus its all too easy to leave these decisions to your camera. It is essential to understand how to take control of focusing and exposure in order to expand your creativity and master your camera.
In our one-day Mastering Your Camera Workshop we will demystify auto and manual focusing and how to achieve an accurate focus with both stationary and moving subjects. We will also cover how to achieve the correct exposure to bring you vision to life by exploring all of the camera’s exposure features such as metering modes, exposure compensation and exposure lock. In additional we will learn how to accurately ready a histogram and evaluate exposure.
The basic structure of this workshop is a combination of lecture, visual presentation and an opportunity to put your new-found knowledge to the test with a series of practical exercises to ensure that you truly understand the various features and creative functions of your camera.
During each of the topics, we will ensure that you understand how each of the various features of your camera operates and we will consolidate that information by making each of the adjustments on your camera and taking photos throughout the workshop to demonstrate the effect each adjustment has on your images.

If you are able to spend any amount of time learning some of the basic terminology and menu layout of your camera it would be beneficial, but not mandatory.
Class size will be between 4-6 students. We limit our class sizes to create a more individual learning environment.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
A digital SLR with interchangeable lenses is a plus but not a necessity. The bare minimum is a camera that can has manual and aperture priority exposure settings. Make sure your batteries are charged!
The camera manual is essential.
