The Basics of Cloning and Healing In Photoshop
Some of the most magical, and useful tools in Photoshop are the Spot Healing Brush, the Healing Brush, the Clone Stamp Tool and the little known Content Aware Scale Tool.
Quite often we need to capture an image in the spur of the moment, with little to no time to compose the image. This could be capturing a playful moment of your children in the park, or a rare bird that presents itself to you in a fleeting moment. Opportunities like these often leave us with a less than perfect composition and usually with a range of distracting elements in the photo. One of the most fundamental and useful capabilities of photoshop is the ability to remove these distracting elements, often making the difference between a good photo and a great photo.
The focus of this 90-minute photography clinic is about learning the basics of these fundamental and powerful editing tools. The topics we will cover include:
- Moving your image between Lightroom and Photoshop
- Determining the best Cloning or Healing tool to use
- Changing the brush size and hardness
- The Spot Healing Brush
- The Healing Brush
- The Clone Stamp Tool
- Content Aware Scale Tool
To complete your Bird Photo Editing journey, I would also recommend attending these additional Photography Clinics:
- Bird Photo - Editing Workflow
- Image Re-sizing and Upscaling
