Shoot – Import – Edit – Showcase
Learning to take beautiful pictures is only one element of successful photography. Learning to edit and present your images is just as important as learning how to use your camera - the real joy of photography is when you present your finished images to friends and family. To accomplish this you require an effective photography workflow. What is an effective workflow? Your workflow begins even before you lift the camera. Giving some thought to the images you are planning to shoot; camera settings, the light and the subject. Followed by processing and editing the images & preparing them to be showcased to family and friends. Spend four delightful days immersed in your photography as we explore the rolling hills, mist covered valleys and tranquil river of the Kangaroo Valley. The Kangaroo Valley offers us the opportunity to capture images of beautiful landscapes, a variety of native flora and fauna as well as candid photos set within this quaint and delightful village. Learning to effectively showcase your images to your family and friends should be a key element of any photography workflow. To conclude our time together we will each present a beautifully crafted Slideshow of your favourite images from the workshop. As with all of our Photo Escapes, in addition to learning new photography skills and techniques, it's all about getting away for a few days and immersing yourself in photography with a group of people who also share in a passion for photography. A perfect Photo Escape for the colder Winter months. Accomodation not included. I have booked a lovely holiday property with 6 individual bedrooms. Tatiara Holiday house is approximately 1.5 km from the centre of the Village; an easy stroll to the cafes, bakeries, arts and crafts shops, and markets. The Kangaroo River is just half a kilometer away, and is a popular spot for canoeing, kayaking, and swimming. The area is well-known for bush-walking, bird-watching, bike trails, fishing, and horse-riding. There is a cozy slow combustion fire to keep us warm and plenty of area for us to sit and relax and enjoy each other's company and talk about photography. All linens are provided. In regards to our meals, we will work collectively to arrange and prepare meals and we will discuss what to bring prior to our departure. The booking fee for this accomodation is $300 per private room. If you wish to reduce your costs you can elect to share a room if you are attending with someone you know. If that is the case then only one of you needs to select the Accomodation, the other can select that they are booking their own accomodation. Make sure your batteries are charged!
- You will also need to bring your own computer, one that is capable of operating Lightroom & Photoshop. Remember to bring your power cable! An external mouse is highly recommended as a minimum for image editing.
- A sturdy tripod is helpful and is very important.
- Adobe Lightroom is recommended as we will be using it during the processing portion of the workshop.
- A wide angle lens with an assortment of Neutral Density filters is also recommended.
